Cute sandal but didn't fit

Ordered my normal 6.5 size. The length was fine but the top strap was too large. I have a fat, wide foot so, I'm surprised it was too big. Returned and will try a 6 but it may be too short. It is well made and very cute...can't believe they made the strap so large.
